The site had a ruined stone barn and forty olive trees. We kept both. The house folds around a courtyard so every room has two aspects and the wind off the mountain never reaches the table.

Walls are a metre of local stone inside a breathing lime render. The roof is timber, left open in the living room so you can read how it was put together.

The client asked for a house that would not need them. It runs without air conditioning in August.
